Muga enthralls fashion connoisseurs at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Guwahati.
From the day of its launch at a glittering and glamorous in Guwahati in Oct, 2016, our journey has been one enriching experience and we are constantly working towards reaching our goals and objectives and making our mission a success in the truest sense of the term.
The first international recognition came when Golden Threads made its presence felt at HKTDC World SME Expo at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in December 2016. The world stood up to see Muga’s new avatar and her many moods. The versatile fabric spoke for itself in stationaries, eye-catching accessories and rich upholsteries. The Muga saga had a contemporary twist to it.
Amazon India Fashion Week 2017
Accolades poured in like raindrops during the four-day fashion extravaganza at Amazon India Fashion Week 2017 (AIFW 2017). A first-of-its-kind off-site show, it captivated everybody present at the National Rail Museum as designer Samant Chauhan exhibited his creative streak. The Muga silk renaissance had begun and was here to stay. Highly appreciative of the efforts of Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. CMD Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, the woman who envisioned ‘The Golden Threads of Assam’, and eulogising the ethereal golden thread of Assam, Sunil Sethi ,President, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), applauded her for standing up for a cause and extending her support to the weavers of Assam.
Textile India 2017
Golden Threads of Assam took part at the four-day Textile India 2017 held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from June 30 to July 2, 2017 where various designs were showcased. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had inaugurated the textile fair, also visited the pavilions and appreciated our eye-catching Muga designs.
North East Calling
The next big moment for Golden Threads came at the two-day ‘North East Calling’, a textile fair organized by the DoNER Ministry, Government of India at the lawns of India Gate, New Delhi, from Sep 9, 2017. The purpose of the event was to promote art, culture, heritage, cuisine, handicrafts, business and tourism of North East India. Costumes and apparels made from the rich Muga silk designed by Golden Threads were showcased in the event.

In our pursuit to interpret age-old weaving techniques and buttress it with modern expertise, we have brought together weavers, designers and others in this field to join and speak a blend of old and new Muga stories in silk.
